The Two-O'Clock Launderette

A launderette that rinses the worry out of your clothes — and the night-shift attendant who'll do it for anyone but herself.

Content note: Warm and gentle. A little loneliness and quiet grief; cosy, never heavy.

A short story of the Hollow Hours. Nadia Okafor works the graveyard shift at the Wishy-Washy on Fenn Street, where between one and two in the morning the machines do a little more than spin. She’ll wash the worry out of anyone’s shirt but her own.

First person, warm and wry. Three short chapters. The whole gentle plan is in the blueprint.
