The short version. The Fairy Fox Stories collection does not use cookies — none at all, and no tracking. It saves your reading progress and reading/display preferences in your browser’s local storage so the games can remember them. That data stays on your device and is never sent to us.
This Cookies Policy explains how Fairy Fox Stories (“the Service”) uses cookies and similar storage technologies. It applies to the games collection at fairyfox.io/fairyfox-stories/, one project within the wider Fairy Fox site.
We do not use cookies
The Service sets no cookies. We use no analytics cookies, no advertising or remarketing cookies, no third-party tracking cookies, and no session cookies. Because there are no non-essential cookies, there is nothing to consent to and no cookie banner to click through.
What we use instead: local storage
To remember your reading progress and your reading and display preferences (the “Aa” reading menu’s theme, accent colour, text size, line spacing, and width), the games use your browser’s local storage. This is similar to a cookie in that it is saved in your browser, but unlike a cookie it is never automatically sent to any server — it simply lets a game show your best score, and the site remember how you like to read, the next time you visit. The reading preferences are saved under a shared key so one choice carries across the wider fairyfox.io site in the same browser. This information stays on your device. We never receive it. Third-party requests
The Service serves its own fonts and does not load them from Google Fonts or any other third-party font service, so no font-related request leaves to a third party. The games embed no ad networks, analytics scripts, or social widgets. The only third party involved is our hosting provider (GitHub Pages), which processes basic request data to deliver the site, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Managing local storage
You can clear the data the Service stores at any time by clearing your browser’s site data / local storage for the Service. Your browser’s help pages explain how (for example, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge). Note that clearing it also resets your saved reading progress and preferences.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookies Policy as the Service changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If we ever introduce cookies or analytics, we will update this page first and obtain consent where the law requires it.
