Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 19, 2026
The short version. This policy is for the Fairy Fox Games collection (not the wider Fairy Fox site). It has no accounts and collects no personal information about you. Your best scores and reading/display preferences are saved only in your own browser. The shared Fairy Fox coins counter — a small, just-for-fun reading-engagement score with no monetary value — likewise lives only in your browser. We use no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking, and we serve our own fonts so nothing is loaded from a third-party font service.
This Privacy Policy explains how Fairy Fox Games (“the Service”, “we”, “us”) handles information. Fairy Fox Games is a free, open-source collection of small browser games created by 1fairyfox — one project within the wider Fairy Fox site. It is played on the web at fairyfox.io/fairyfox-games/. The games run entirely in your browser. Other Fairy Fox projects have their own policies; this one covers only the games collection.
What we do not collect
We built the Service so that we collect as little as possible — in practice, nothing about you on our side. Specifically:
- There are no user accounts and no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, or address.
- We run no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or behavioral profiling, and we do not build any user database.
- We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or location.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone, because we do not hold any.
Information stored on your own device
To make the games nicer to play, the Service saves a little information in your browser — not on our servers. This is your best scores for each game, your reading and display preferences (the “Aa” reading menu’s theme, accent colour, text size, line spacing, and width), and your Fairy Fox coins — a small, cosmetic reading-engagement score you earn by exploring and playing around the site, plus a record of which pages you have opened today (used only to award those coins). It is stored using your browser’s local storage and stays on your device; it is never transmitted to us. The reading preferences and the coins balance are saved under shared keys so a single choice or balance carries across the wider fairyfox.io site in the same browser — this is still local to your device only. Coins have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold, or exchanged for anything, and are purely for fun; the game experience never depends on them (see the shared How coins work explainer). You can delete any of it at any time: use the in-app controls — the “Aa” menu’s Reset and the coin panel’s Clear my data link — or clear your browser’s site data for the Service, which simply resets your saved best scores, preferences, and coins.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served as static files by GitHub Pages. Like virtually all web hosting, the provider automatically processes basic technical information required to deliver the site and keep it secure — most notably your IP address and standard request metadata — in its server logs. This is handled by GitHub as our hosting provider under its own privacy policy. We do not add our own analytics, profiles, or user database on top of it.
Fonts and third-party requests
The Service’s fonts are served by the Service itself, from its own address. They are not loaded from Google Fonts or any other third-party font service, so no information about you (such as your IP address) is sent to a font provider when a page loads. The games embed no third-party scripts, ad networks, or social widgets.
Cookies
The Service does not use cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage for your best scores and preferences as described above, which is not a tracking cookie and is not transmitted to us. See our Cookies Policy for details.
Children’s privacy
Fairy Fox Games is a general-audience collection of simple, non-violent games suitable for all ages. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect it from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information — for example, by emailing us — please contact us and we will delete it.
Your privacy rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and others)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Because we hold essentially no personal information about you, there is usually nothing on our side to access or delete — the data that exists (your best scores and preferences) is on your own device and is fully under your control (clear it at any time as described above).
For California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not collect, sell, or “share” (for cross-context behavioral advertising) your personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information.
For users in the EEA/UK (GDPR): where any limited processing occurs (such as the hosting logs described above), it is based on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Security
We take reasonable steps to keep the Service secure, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure. The games run client-side and we operate no server that holds your data.
International users
The Service can be used worldwide. When you load it, your request and the limited technical data described above may be processed in the United States or other countries where our hosting operates.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected here on this page.
