Process Report — check-for-updates, 2026-06-26 (scheduled, third pass)

Standing automated "check the fairyfox system for updates" run (scheduled task, owner not present). Default flow: check, report, then wait — nothing applied. This is the third fairyfox pass today, after the morning adopting-updates (hub 0.8.1 → 0.9.1) and the afternoon adopting-updates-express-auth (0.8.1 → 0.9.2).

What was done

  1. Refreshed the read-only, git-ignored hub mirror at assets/references/fairyfox.io/. The fetch --depth 1 + reset --hard origin/dev reconcile ran clean — hub dev had been force-pushed again (42b6ea4 → 6777a73, routine). Reset touched the mirror only, never project history. New mirror HEAD 6777a73, hub VERSION 0.9.4.
  2. Diffed the refreshed hub standards/templates/ledger against this repo's adopted copies (notes/reference/cross-project-sync.md, git-workflow.md, versioning.md, the CLAUDE.md mesh block) and against the hub's own last-seen marker for this node.
  3. Concluded nothing new to adopt (see below). Wrote this report. Made no edits, no commits, no pushes — per the scheduled-run guardrails and the check-report-wait default.

What changed in the fairyfox system (0.9.2 → 0.9.4)

The hub advanced two commits since the afternoon adopt, both hub-side housekeeping that reflect this project's own already-completed adoptions — not new standards for this node:

  • 0.9.3 — folded the express-authorization verification-floor clarification and the .last-seen.yml reports_through marker scheme into the hub standards. This node had already adopted that verification-floor directive in the afternoon pass (dev commit 3ff32c6, "require comprehensive verification on every automated/express-authorized apply").
  • 0.9.4 (current HEAD) — "reconcile to pokered express-auth adoption + 0.9.3 fold-back, blog the day." The hub reading this node's adoption back into itself and blogging it. Inbound (hub-reads-node) housekeeping; nothing outbound for the node.

The hub's hub/.last-seen.yml confirms this: it records pokered-save-editor-2 at commit 3ff32c6 with both of today's reports already digested (reports_through: [2026-06-26-adopting-updates.md, 2026-06-26-adopting-updates-express-auth.md], folded into hub standards 0.9.1 / 0.9.3).

Verification that nothing is outstanding

  • cross-project-sync.md — adopted copy carries the express-authorization ledger read paragraph (with the never-skipped verification floor), the reset --hard force-push mirror fallback, and the "Process reports" + "Compliance audit" sections. Matches the current hub canonical in substance.
  • git-workflow.md / versioning.md — adopted copies both retain their ## Verify (is it being followed?) sections (git-workflow line 188; versioning line 132), mirroring the hub's. Hub files for these last changed at the morning git-flow pass (already adopted in dev commit ef95787); untouched by 0.9.3/0.9.4.
  • authorizations.yml — single active standing entry express-authorization-rollout (expires: null), already honored by this node's CLAUDE.md mesh block. No new or changed authorizations.
  • VERSION unchanged at 0.14.2-alpha; git status clean; the git-ignored mirror produced no tracked change.

What adopting would touch

Nothing. There is no outstanding hub standard, template, or authorization this node has not already adopted. No files in notes/reference/, CLAUDE.md, or elsewhere would change. The 0.9.3/0.9.4 hub movement is fold-back/blog of this project's own work.

What went well

  • The routine force-push was anticipated; the mirror reconciled cleanly with no fight against project history.
  • The hub's .last-seen.yml + reports_through marker gave an unambiguous, cross-checkable anchor for "what this node has already adopted," making the no-change conclusion verifiable rather than assumed.

Friction / suggestions

  • None this pass. The two same-day adopt passes plus this confirming check show the loop converging: the hub's last-seen marker and the node's adoption commits agree, so a check-only pass can now conclude quickly and verifiably.

Outcome

no-change. Check-only; nothing applied, no commits, no pushes, no VERSION movement. Hub at 0.9.4 is fully reconciled with this node's adopted standards. Awaiting no action from Twilight. (This report file was written but, per the scheduled-run no-commit guardrail, left uncommitted for Twilight to review and commit.)
